Tally vs Riverside

Tally builds a prep brief for each episode: web research on your guest, a run-of-show, and questions to work from. You walk into the recording already knowing who you're talking to and where the conversation could go.

The Tally desktop app runs alongside whatever you record with, Riverside included. It transcribes the conversation as it happens and puts context cards on your screen — silent text, never audio, never in your signal path. There's a producer view for a second operator, a stage display, and guest rooms.

Your guests hear nothing and your recording chain stays untouched.

Point Tally at your RSS feed and it imports your archive, transcribing every episode with speaker labels. From there the whole catalog is searchable — hybrid semantic and keyword search, so a vague memory of a conversation works as well as an exact phrase.

Topic pages collect every episode that ever mentioned a subject, timestamped, one click into the transcript at that exact moment. A topic cloud and knowledge graph show what your show has actually covered. Cmd+K gets you to any of it, and a media library holds the video, images, and PDFs you collect around the show — with visual search across video frames.

Tally doesn't record. It doesn't edit audio or video, and it doesn't host or distribute your show. Your recording stack stays exactly as it is — Tally works around it, not instead of it.
